Stay out of jail fine

-

ANC national executive committee member Tony Yengeni, who was found guilty of drunk driving, will pay R15 000 to avoid jail.

He was, however, acquitted on a charge of reckless driving in the Cape Town Regional Court.

The ANC former MP was fined R30 000, or 90 days in jail, half of it suspended for five years, provided he’s not convicted of the same offence again. His driver’s licence was not revoked.

He admitted that his actions were shameful and embarrassing.
