Computers stolen from chief justice’s office
FIFTEEN computers containing confidential information of 250 judges were stolen from the Midrand Offices of the Chief Justice (OCJ) yesterday.
The computers were stolen from the human resorces unit and contained crucial personal information about the judges and officials of the OCJ.
Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng’s spokesman, Nathi Mncube, said the burglary was a huge setback for the justice administration.
On social media, people reacted by referring the incident to the recent South African Social Security Agency saga which was resolved by the Constitutional Court on Friday.
@Lolamonareng tweeted: “The burglary at the office of the Chief Justice just so happens to coincide with #SASSA judgment”.
@Fentse66 tweeted: “Certain people in high places don’t like the integrity of the office of the Chief Justice. So soon after the #SASSA debacle? unbelievable!”
@Sennabt added: “Morebreak In at the office of Chief Justice. They’re now after you Mogoeng Mogoeng these Mafias. If they find nothing they’ll create something”.
