Women JZ’S most ardent supporters
WITH reference to the letter “Is Chris Hani’s wife afraid of the ANC” (Sunday Tribune, April 16), the answer to that is very simple.
At Chris Hani’s memorial, his widow publicly stated that President Jacob Zuma had been a pillar of strength for her.
When one of her children was involved in drugs, the president was there in her time of need.
She also said that whenever she had a problem, she could always rely on Zuma for help.
In other words, she is indebted to him; hence the flowery support.
Considering the president is a ladies’ man, it is not surprising that most of his ardent and most outspoken supporters are women. REKHA PREMSHAND
