Bell, Combrinck take stage one

NAD Pro MTB’S Nico Bell and Gawie Combrinck won stage one of the Old Mutual joberg2c in a time of 2 hours 57 minutes and 52 seconds on Saturday.

Pro MTB’S Nico Bell and Gawie Combrinck were second on the day, though.

The event also threw up an interesting result in the Lanham-love Mixed Category, with Darren and Candice Lill (dormakaba) crossing the line first (3:16:10).

The racing and riding on day 2 took the 820 joberg2c participants – including almost 200 foreign riders – from Frankfort to Reitz.

The 93km stage started in cold and clear conditions as riders made their way out of Frankfort and along the banks of the Wilge River.
