DURBAN TO GET TOURISM INDABA FOR FIVE MORE YEARS
IT WAS not only Durban authorities and businesses who relished the news Durban will host Africa’s top travel show the Tourism Indaba for the next five years, but ordinary visitors and tourists did as well.
The announcement was made at the opening of the 2017 Tourism Indaba at Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre by President Jacob Zuma, who also introduced the new national campaign called “WE DO TOURISM” to further develop the sector which has proved to be one of the key contributors to the country’s economy.
Visitor Makhadzi Makhadzi, who represented Limpopo Tourism. was among the ones thrilled by the announcement. She said the duration of Indaba had become a special time in her annual calendar.
“I am really happy for Durban. I love this city; coming here for Indaba has become a top priority on my year plan. I start to count down from January: the people, experience, atmosphere and hospitality are amazing here. I feel privileged to be a part of this show and I am hoping that for the next five years I’ll be here,” she said.
