SPORTS enthusiast­s are pleased with the documentar­y Sachin, which is based on the life of cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

The film is directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandk­a .

It depicts Tendulkar’s cricket and personal life in substantia­l detail, and explores different aspects of his life that many fans have not heard of.

The film was shot in Hindi, Marathi and English. Owing to demand, dubbed versions of the film will be released in Tamil and Telugu.

The film has also been declared tax free in the states of Chhattisga­rh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtr­a and Odisha. Many Bollywood stars as well as cricketers took to social media to express their views on the movie.

The film has earned R25 million at the box office thus far, and is showing at local cinemas from this weekend.
