18-hour EMS wait
DURBANITE Geraldine Baker, 59, had to wait 18 hours for an ambulance at a public toilet after being robbed at the beachfront. She broke her leg in the scuffle.
An employee at an eatery saw Baker at 4pm and again at 6am the next day. It was only when a policewoman drove to Addington Hospital that Baker was attended to. The KZN Health Department said a mix-up of names caused the delay. It apologised to Baker.
