Suspect shot dead

A SUSPECTED bank robber was shot dead in Tongaat and five others fled when cornered by police. They were allegedly trying to break into a bank after they failed in an attempt to steal from an ATM.

When Tongaat police responded, one suspect lunged at them with a knife. He was shot in the chest.

Charges of business burglary, attempted murder are being investigated.
