Unlimited potential for development
Extensive dairy farming operations in Underberg
PETER Maskell Auctioneers is inviting tenders for the purchase of extensive dairy farming operations in Underberg. The tenders will close on October 19 at noon.
On offer in the insolvent estate sale are Penwarn Country Lodge and grazing farms on the foothills of the southern Drakensberg with “unlimited potential for further development”.
The farms are being sold as a going concern or on a piecemeal basis, according to the buyer’s requirements.
The farms, of which portions are to be sold, include Waterford (984 hectares), Quathlamba (203 hectares), Walton (658 hectares), Penwarn (917 hectares), and also Lots FP216, FP238 and FP105 (76, 62, and 174 hectares, respectively). Water rights are being officially verified for the farm portions.
There is a well-appointed lodge on the farm Penwarn, with spectacular views of the Drakensberg.
Peter Maskell says the farms, covering a total area of more than 3 000 hectares, all have an abundance of water with 36 hectares under centre pivot and dragline irrigation. The farms also have extensive milking facilities.
