MINERS REACH SALARY DEAL

UNIONS have signed threeyear wage agreements with Sibanye-stillwater at its Kroondal platinum group metals operations.

“It was pleasing to note the acceptance of the wage agreement by all the unions, namely the Associatio­n of Mineworker­s and Constructi­on Union (Amcu), the National Union of Mineworker­s (NUM) and Solidarity,” the group’s chief executive, Neal Froneman, said this week.

The agreement is effective from July 1 this year. It includes a R1 000 a month increase year-onyear for the next three years for the category B workers and Cpi-related increases for category A employees. – ANA
