Bid for a landmark building in the CBD

ONE OF Durban CBD’S best-known high-rise buildings, the Absa premises at 291 Anton Lembede (formerly Smith) Street, will be auctioned by Broll Auctions and Sales on July 4.

The multi-property sale will take place at The Wanderers Club in Illovo, Joburg.

The 15-storey building, previously used by Absa as offices, has a groundfloor banking hall with offices throughout the rest of the floors. The offices are vacant and Absa will negotiate a new lease for the banking hall on street level.

There are 274 on-site parking bays on 10 levels in the “general business”-zoned office tower.

The building is on a site of over 2 000m² and has a gross lettable area of nearly 11 000m².
