BONITAS House Call host Dr Victor Ramathesele is waiting in vain for police investigations into a case in which he was robbed of his Rolex watch worth R150 000 at gunpoint in 2011.

Sunday World learnt about Ramathesele ’ s case through police sources after the notorious Rolex Gang was smashed and arrested. The three suspects ’ case will be heard again tomorrow at the Joburg high court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate ’ s Court.

It was not, however, clear if the same gang was responsible for roughing up the famous medical man for his prestigious piece of jewellery.

The former Bafana Bafana team doctor confirmed to Sunday World that he was relieved of his luxurious wrist piece at gunpoint and that he was never informed about the progress of his

case. “My Rolex watch was taken. I have not

heard anything from the police since I opened the case,” he said.

When asked if he was aware of the Rolex Gang and their ongoing court case, Ramathesele said: “’I m aware through media reports.” He said he was never called as a witness in court. Police spokeswoman Doniah Mothutsane confirmed a case of armed robbery was opened at Norwood police station five years ago.

“The case has been closed undetected. However, should any information arise it will be re-opened for further investigations, ” said Mothutsane. The alleged members of the gang, Betha Mphikeleni, Sipho Mabundla and George Mulaudzi, are accused of committing 12 robberies over six weeks in 2014 by tracking down people who had recently bought valuable items in Sandton and robbing them.

Moses Maleka, allegedly the ring leader of the gang, was shot dead in Marlboro near Alexandra in northern Joburg last year.
