NEW gospel duo, Lebo n Sabelo, are lifting spirits everywhere after just a short time in the industry.

Fresh from paying homage to their home church, Gods Love Christian Family Church, with a free-two-man concert, the talented duo feel they are ready to take on the world.

The pair, whose real names are Lebogang Popela (28) and Sabelo Fakude (26), says their success comes from sheer dedication and hard work.

We are still new in the industry but that will not stop us from achieving great things. We have been working on the album for years and have spent a lot of our own money to make sure this is a success, Popela says.

The Midrand-based duo, who still keep their nine-to-five jobs to finance their passion for music, says this year is their break-out year.

We have been ready for a long time, we believe this is the year we are going big we have prayed for it,” says Fakude.

The young pastors say they were sent to preach the gospel through their voices since Bible values were installed in them very early on in life.

I grew up in the church as my parents are pastors. So for me there was nothing else to be sung, gospel was the way of life for me,” said Popela. For me, I would not want to sing anything else because I want to change people s lives through my music. It s not just about singing but singing for a purpose,” Fakude adds. Theirs is a union that started with a friendship and then blossomed to a musical partnership that has since seen them tour around the country and receive an award nomination.

After the release of their album last year, Lebo n Sabelo were nominated for an award in the best music category at the Bushbuckridge awards.

Soon after that the pair were in demand making interview appearances on television talking about their successful SEXY model Shashi Naidoo is wrinkle-free, but says one can t be too complacent.

Speaking to Sunday World at the unveiling of Hyalual Institute s range of age-defying, wrinkle defeating beauty and skin reviving products in Rivonia this week, Naidoo says their new miracle injections is what will save her from looking old when she turns 60.

The injection is called Xela Rederm and was launched at The Syrene Boutique Hotel on Wednesday in Rivonia this week.

Killarney-based Dr Reza Mia said the injectable filler, similar to but less invasive than a face lift, starts at R3 500, and is a mix of hyaluronic acid and succinic acid.

Hyaluronic acid hydrates and lifts the skin giving it a fuller healthier look while succinic acid stimulates the mitochondria in the fibre pus cells which produces collegen and elleston. It s designed to define lines, lifting and pigmentation marks,” said Mia.

Naidoo, who is turning 36 this year, says she is seriously considering the treatment.

I was like these products are something I album which has attracted recognition from industry legends such as Rebecca Malope.

The two have been performing at events around the country while spreading the gospel.

We have always enjoyed the uncontested support of our local church and community members who have been there for us from the beginning and still show amazing levels of support for us,” Popela says.

We will always come back to the church and report back because it all started here for us and it does not matter how far we go in our careers we will always remember where we come from,” Fakude adds.

When they are not travelling around the country promoting their music, Lebo n Sabelo mentor young people at their local church as youth pastors. should look into ... as some of my friends are talking about how badly and how wrong some of these face lifts and plastic surgeries could go. I just think we can do little things like this and when we eventually turn 60 or 70 you will not have to do major things like surgery,” Naidoo said.

The starlet, who owns modelling agency Alushi management, says being in the beauty industry has helped her learn to take good care of herself.

I m lucky to be in my profession. As a model you want to have longevity for as long as you can. So, I have always maintained my skin, looked after it, moisturised, cleansed and done the whole routine religiously, she says.

The product was originally made in Switzerland about five years ago.

Dr Mia said clients received treatment from a holistic approach in conjunction with other injectable products.

The advantage over traditional surgical solutions is that you don t have to go through theatre and have anaesthetics, so that is an advantage and it s a lot cheaper,” he says.

Doctors first conduct medical checks on clients to minimise side-effects.

Side-effects, include slight bruising, but chances of an allergic reaction are less due to the product being made of non-animal additives.
