THE awards season is upon us and Shwa s diary is filled with invites. Ke Summer, Boss. First up this week was the Chevrolet Feather Awards nominations held at the historical Constitution Hill. The annual awards are aimed at celebrating high-profile individuals who have inspired, scandalised and amused SA s LGBTI community over the past year. Few recognisable names in the entertainment industry graced the nominations event with their presence. Founder of the awards Thami Dish looked fabulous in an all-white outfit with a touch of traditional accessories. Nice to see people embracing their heritage. Songstress Kelly Khumalo looked sexy in a short black number that revealed firm and seductive thighs that left Shwa drooling. Shwa was tempted to set her up with a blesser, but then remembered Khumalo s disastrous track record of relationships. Shwa settled for drooling. Amstel of 3Sum appeared phly in African print slim-fit pants. Shwa was however distracted by the diva s extraordinarily long eye-lashes Dramatic!
…Actor Lumko Johnson, who was revealed as the co-host of this year s offering of the awards, took the Respect the doek campaign to the next level when he showed up with his wrapped nicely on his head.
Radio and TV personality Lerato Kganyago, who will also host the awards, confessed at the do that she has an inner Somizi in her. Wait, does that mean she is bisexual?
Was it Shwa or did flamboyant Somizi Mhlongo look

Actor Phila Madlingozi, son of superstar Ringo, looked like an abandoned child who has resorted to living on the streets.

Club DJ and radio host Ms Cosmo arrived when everyone was preparing to leave. Perhaps she mistook the event for some of her gigs where she has to arrive few minutes before her slot to play. Next time you are late at least be fashionable
The do was okay but Shwa feels the food was a letdown especially after a loud announcement that food would be served. Getting my hopes high for dry burgers and dessert that looked like someone had puked on it. Shwa is looking forward to the drama queen of the year category where the nominees are: Aka + DJ Zinhle + Bonang, Euphonik + Bonang + DJ Zinhle + Aka and the Mdodas + the Kanis.
The ceremony will be held in November and the venue is yet to be confirmed.
