ANC man gets new state job

- AUBREY MOTHOMBENI

FORMER ANC head of communications Keith Khoza will be joining the Gauteng department of human settlements to work with his former boss ANC Gauteng chairman Paul Mashatile.

The ruling party troubleshooter resigned from his position this week.

However, his exit has triggered speculation and rumours that the ANC wanted to halve his salary as it is allegedly battling financially.

Sunday World was inundated with allegations that several staff at Luthuli House have not been receiving their salaries since November and others only got half their salaries since January.

However, ANC spokesman Zizi Kodwa disputed the allegations surrounding Khoza’s resignation and rumours of the party being broke.

We are aware about that rumour about salaries but it’s not true. The finances of the ANC are the most stable.

Kodwa said people were confusing the non-renewal of contracts of interns with the finances of the party.

When I came to join, there were a few interns who were working at Luthuli House and those are the only ones whose contracts were not renewed. Apart from that, the rumour about salaries at Luthuli House has been there even before I joined in 2014. It’s nothing new,” he said.

Khoza confirmed he was joining Mashatile at the provincial government.

It’s not true that I left because of salary issues. I left because I was going to work with Paul Mashatile as head of communications in his department.”
