Time youth shaped future

-

IT’S that time again where various political parties will be seen going around communities cleaning the streets, donating clothes and food to the less fortunate all in the name of winning votes.

They will be going around trying to convince the angry youth of our country to vote for them. Many promises will be made.

Question is, though, is our youth motivated enough to listen to what the parties have to say, did the parties do enough to earn the vote and confidence of the angry youth. It is very heart-breaking to see how the youth are not even bothered to vote, they no longer believe that their vote will make a difference when some of them still don’t have access to proper sanitation, services or even jobs.

All they see is parties who are good in making promises but don’t deliver on half of those promises. It will be very interesting to see how the parties are going to convince the youth to vote for them.

The Independent Electoral Commission has revealed that at least nine million South Africans eligible to vote are not registered.

To the youth of South Africa, you can’t complain about non-service delivery when you didn’t vote. You are powerful. You can shape the direction of a nation.

Go out there and vote for the party you believe in. In these upcoming elections, we have to ensure that we determine what direction we want the country to take in the next 20 years by voting smartly.
