NEW sexiness on the block is Jo-Anne Reyneke who acts as Busi in SABC 2’s fast-growing soapie in the popularity stakes.

Busi is a sexy, confident chartered accountant. She’s well-travelled, well-read, and very direct. She has a bit of a masculine power about her,” explains Reyneke. She says getting the role was as easy as pie though.

It was not hard because I was ready for it. If I’d tried a role like this before, it would have been impossible.

I wasn’t physically and mentally ready, but I am now. This power part is a challenge, but I feel I’m up to it now and I’m really enjoying it. She describes herself as a tomboy

I have my moments of being insecure. I’m not as direct as her, but I’m very honest though. We are as far apart as day and night, but I envy some of her traits,” says the beauty.

The 28-year-old was born in Vereeniging, in the Vaal, and raised in Pietermaritzburg.

I wanted to be a nurse until I was three years old then I saw blood and the cries that followed..... That changed things! As far as I can remember after that I wanted to be an actor. I idolised Brooke Forester of she says.

Reyneke was quite an active and playful child.

She was even a dancer another one of her passions.

I was once involved in a dance group called Ayo, and we did the Sarafina dances, traditional dances and drum majorette-type of stuff. I was a very colourful child,” says Reyneke.

Her very first TV role was Pearl, the receptionist in She was my favourite

character because she was so comical and I love doing comedy. Busi is my second favourite because of how different she is from Pearl. I also played Prudence Oliphant, the uptight office manager for Redemption Records, in e.tv’s and Layla on ,” she says. Reyneke loves acting but says she would like to challenge herself to own a slew of beauty salons.

I love making people beautiful. Hair, makeup, styling, life-coaching anything that helps people feel and look good! I would love to act until I die,” she says.

She also enjoys a day out at Gold Reef City where she gets to unleash her inner child.

Anything thrill-related. I’ve never bungee jumped or gone sky-diving but I’d love too,” says the mother of pigeon pair, Elakhe and Uvolwethu.
