A taste of Jamie is coming to Jozi

CHEF and healthy food campaigner Jamie Oliver and Whisky Creek brand announced the first Jamie’s Italian restaurant would soon launch in South Africa.

Justin Divaris, Stephen Gersowsky and Symeon Yiallouris, all executive directors of Whisky Creek, will be the exclusive operating partners for Jamie’s Italian locally.

The eating joint will open in Melrose Arch this year.

Jamie ’ s Italian, a partnershi­p between Jamie and his Italian mentor chef Gennaro Contaldo, has won thousands of fans the world over for its delicious and affordable food, friendly service and buzzing atmosphere.

The Italian-inspired menu, with a Jamie twist, features pasta that’s made fresh on-site every day.

According to Jamie: “I’ve always been a huge fan of Italy. I love the passion of its people, the simplicity of their cooking, the incredible produce and the big flavours. That ’ s what we’re all about, making good food accessible and affordable for everyone. ”

Whisky Creek CEO Gersowsky said: “Being awarded the Jamie’s Italian franchise is such a privilege.

“Our aim is to be the most popular restaurant in town, great for families and a pit-stop for shoppers or friends who want to share a quick bowl of pasta after work.”
