THE club’s most recent time trials on August 16 were held in the form of a memorial run for the late Noel Maddocks and attracted a large field of runners and walkers who all came to pay homage to a much loved man.

Joan Betts 27:54 Pania Heny 27:54 On Saturday, walkers Jean and Carol Nepgen were in the Western Cape where they both competed in the Atlantis Harriers Half Marathon and 5km fun run. Jean, who had been on the injury list for the past few weeks, made his return to competitio­n by participat­ing in the 5km event and finished in 0:49:39. Carol opted for the 21.1km event and finished in 2:49:41.

On Sunday, the Nepgens attended the 1000km Challenge prize-giving in Cape Town where they both received gold medals for each having done more than 1207km. Carol did 2294km during the challenge and Jean 2154km. Our congratula­tions go out to them for these remarkable results, which were personal bests for both.
