Taking up the cartwheel challenge
THE Sunshine Coast Gymnastics Great Community Cartwheel Challenge drew a big turnout of children and parents enjoying the fun and laughter at the Albany Centre in Port Alfred on Saturday.
The event is an annual fundraiser for the Sunshine Coast Gymnastics Club, and had a number of guests from Nemato Change a Life’s gymnastics club.
As well as young gymnasts adept at cartwheels, parents and adults also took up the challenge. Everyone was a good sport, even when the going proved difficult.
There were loads of prizes in various categories.
In the speed competitions, all age groups tried to do as many cartwheels as they could in 30 seconds.
There was also a fancy dress competition, with prizes for the top three entrants.
