New jungle gym for foster home

- ROB KNOWLES

CHILDREN at the Child Welfare Cluster Foster Home in Port Alfred were overjoyed as they began to swing, climb and slide on the newly erected jungle gym, trampoline and soccer area provided by Dutch charity organisation Stichting Nemato.

Ellen Fober from Stichting Nemato was at the foster home to help at the official opening on February 27.

“This is exactly what the children needed,” said Child Welfare senior social worker and manager Susan Harty, who helped share out the cake and cooldrink.

“Look at how the children are enjoying themselves.”

Fober was delighted that her organisation was always able to assist.

“We thank everyone, both here and in the Netherlands, for helping us to make the lives of these foster children just that much better,” she said.
