High Tea fundraiser for dancer
LOCAL dancer Kirsten Julie is working hard to make her dreams come true.
Sixteen-year-old Julie has been offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in the internationallyacclaimed Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) in Orlando, Florida, as soon as she and her mother Delvene Gelderbloem have raised the funds to get there.
“We need to raise R76 000 for the whole trip,” said Gelderbloem.
To this end, Gelderbloem has organised a fundraising High Tea featuring her daughter and other performers. It will be held at the St Paul’s Anglican Church hall on Saturday June 3, at 2pm.
The High Tea is being held in the spirit of “bringing to share” and enjoying beautiful entertainment.
The line-up at the high tea will be as follows: Helen Averbuch (singing) and Lorna Els (piano); Julie (dancing); a break for tea; a poem by emerging conscientious poet Beaulette Blom; an original composition by fellow PAHS pupil and rising star Tinashe Nzawanga; a spiritual dance solo by Veronica Israel; as well as a mime act by Paula Israel and Riaan McKay.
Each table will be facilitated by a host. Four hosts have been confirmed thus far, and three more people are needed to showcase their hosting skills.
Gelderbloem is inviting anyone wishing to contribute as a host to contact her.
There are three great prizes to be won by the three best hosts: a hair voucher from Scissors by Candice; a voucher from beautician Signet Howlett at Leach Pharmacy; and a voucher from Kawayan Restaurant, Coffee Lounge & Take-aways at Rosehill Mall.
To book your ticket (R60 adults, R30 children under-12), or to volunteer as a host, contact Gelderbloem on 083-368-7921.
Tickets will also be sold at the door.
