THIS past weekend was the running of the world’s greatest ultra-marathon, the Comrades Marathon.
Congratulations to Marianne Stiglingh and her daughter Alana for competing for the first time and finishing together in 11 hours and 32 minutes. They deserve a good rest before they start training for next year.
Well done also to husband and father Sticks Stiglingh for being selected to run for Eastern Province in the SA Half-Marathon champs in Port Elizabeth on June 24.
The club is taking a bus to the champs. A very flat fast route. Come a join us and run a PB.
Don’t forget the Fish River Sun trail run on June 16.Enter online by the 12th. Join us for breakfast after the run.
Congratulations to Jean and Carol Nepgen for completing the 1000km challenge.
Carol did an amazing 3136km and Jean 1942km.This only in races. Both of them are in line to win prizes.
They recently completed the Run Wild Trail Run over three days. Day one was Kei mouth to Wavecrest, 21km in 4:50. Day two was Wavecrest to Kob Inn, 26 km in 5:58, and day three was 7km to Jujura river in 1:21.
They are starting again for the next 1000 km challenge. Good luck to them.
