THE club has had some great results over the past week.

We were the first "out of town" running club to compete in the Eastern Province cross-country league. We took first place in three different age groups as well as two third places. This is really great for the club and certainly impressed the provincial officials.

Boys 15 years 4km - Ayabonga Saul 4th 16 minutes 23 seconds

Girls 10 years 2km - Rebecca Nelson 4th 9:55

Boys 12 years 3km - Lithemba Jekana 3rd 13:01

Women 50 years 4km - Lulana Mceka 3rd 25:44

Women 60 years 4km - Avril Beyleveld 1st 24:16

Men 60 years 6km - Sticks Stiglingh 1st 26:51

Men 60 years 6km - Alex Weed 5th 30:55

Men 70 years 6km - Rob Joiner 1st 37:46

Then came the Fish River Trail Run

Lithemba Jekana won the 3km race in 12:19

Rebecca Nelson came 7th overall in 15:21 and won the ladies’ section Well done. In the 10km event we had several entries.

Ayabonga Saul finished second overall in 42:58. Jean and Carol Nepgen have now started their 14th 1 000km challenge.

Carol did the Mamre 21km in 2 hours 56 minutes and Jean the 5km in 49 minutes.

We have started Sunday club runs.

A 10km and a 5km walk/run starting at 8am from the Duck Pond car park.

These are social training runs. Come and join us.

The club is doing a water point for the Washie 100 on Friday July 7.We need helpers. So come and join us for a fun evening supporting the runners.

Don't forget to diarise August 12.We are taking a bus to do the Mountain Drive 21km in Grahamstown. Time Trial: June 13
