This past weekend was the Eastern Province Cross Country Championsh­ips and Kowie Striders runners had some really great results, winning three gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal.

Gold medals:

Sticks Stiglingh 60+ age group 6km 26 minutes 20 seconds

Lulama Mceka 50+ ladies 4km 25:05

Avril Beyleveld 60+ ladies 4km 24:05

Silver medal:

Rob Joiner 70+ men 6km 38:01

Bronze medal:

Mike Nelson 50+ men 6km 39:24

Rebecca Nelson 10 years girls 9th 2km 9:22

Ayabonga Saul 15 years boys 13th 4km 16:07

Lithemba Jekana 12 years boys 6th 3km 11:22 Well done to you all. This Saturday is the Grahamstow­n Mountain Drive 21km race. The club is taking a bus to the race. Please book your seat if you intend coming. It’s a great race with some tough climbs and nice downhills.

We are having Sunday club runs/walks every week at 8am at the Duck Pond car park and then a coffee at the Penny Farthing. Come and join us.
