Talk of the Town

This has been a busy season

-

I HOPE you have all had a wonderful Christmas full of the joys of family and friends.

New Year this year seemed to be busier than ever and on the whole, the municipality did a great job. Well done to them for coping with the huge influx over this period.

Our security team in Kenton made sure we had very few reported incidents of crime. On balance we had a great festive season.

This must have rubbed off on our visitors, as we have had an unusually busy time showing them homes, and preparing offers for purchase. to some extent been dampened by recent events in the leadership in the ruling party. I imagine we will need to see the direction that the new leadership take to revitalise commerce, reduce crime and provide services. I am cautiously optimistic. Having said this, well-priced homes are selling.

There’s something exciting about new faces in town. They often bring new ideas to the community and our various organisations. I know what it was like when I first came down here. I joined every organisation, made lots of friends and then slowly concentrated on projects in which I had the most interest.

However, I don’t know about you, despite all this activity I do enjoy having more parking spaces when I go to town and not having to wait so long for my habitual cups of coffee, now that a number of our guests have gone home.
