Wonderful service at Port Alfred Hospital

-

ON Saturday afternoon my wife experienced an allergic reaction and subsequently took her prescribed medication.

After taking another tablet it became clear that this was not subsiding. She indicated that we should get to a doctor as she could by now not swallow and breathing became difficult. We could not get hold of our GP and thus my story begins.

I ended up taking her to the casualty department at the Port Alfred Hospital. Upon service my wife and I received was wonderful!

There was only Dr Nombekela on duty. My wife was assessed by Sister Whitebooi initially and then by the doctor. She was taken into the resuscitation room immediately and her treatment started. I had to go to the admin side to sort out the paperwork and I experienced the same friendly, excellent service from the gentleman on duty. Upon discharge at 11.30pm we were attended to at that time of night!

After all the negative press that the hospital got recently, I decided to bring the positive side to the readers’ attention as well. The service we received was excellent, very professional and friendly. I am happy to say that I would go back to the casualty department any time if I have an emergency!

To the above mentioned people, thanks from my wife and myself. You really walked the extra mile!
