A guest at Willows Caravan Park was robbed of two cellphones on Sunday afternoon.

MultiSecur­ity responded to a call from the manager.

The guest said she had been sleeping in her tent when she heard the zip open and saw a man who grabbed the phones and ran off. She did not have any descriptio­n of the robber as it happened too fast. The phones were a new Mobicel phone and an old tablet. A case was opened.

• Two laptops and three iPads were stolen from a home in Strand Street on Monday afternoon.

The owner called MultiSecur­ity when he discovered the items were missing. He suspected the gardener because there was an open window with no burglar bar upstairs and the gardener was using a long ladder. A domestic worker was also inside the house.

Police attended with their K9 unit. A case was opened.

• A Mission Street home was also targeted by thieves who stole a laptop and three cellphones last Thursday.

MultiSecur­ity responded to a panic signal. They found the burglar(s) had gained entry through an open window even though the burglar bars were still intact. Police attended and opened a case.

• Copper pipe thieves struck again at a home in Riverside Drive last Wednesday.

MultiSecur­ity responded to an alarm at the premises and found the thieves had gained entry by breaking through the fence at the back. They removed a tap and copper pipes from the outside geyser, but dropped them next to a tree nearby. A case was opened the and pipes taken to the police station.

• There was an attempted break-in at Palms Video on Sunday night. MultiSecur­ity reported that the burglar(s) broke the latch and a piece of plank at the door, but did not gain entry.

• MultiSecur­ity responded to an attempted break-in at Fountain Rocks View last Friday just before noon.

The resident said she had been busy upstairs when she heard a noise came downstairs and spotted a burglar who ran off.

• There were several incidents of intruders reported at properties around town.

On Saturday night a MultiSecur­ity response officer attended a home in Alfred Road after an alarm went off. The resident said there had been an intruder on the premises, but was unable to give a clear descriptio­n. MultiSecur­ity checked the premises and patrolled the area but did not find anything suspicious.

More intruders were reported at a home in Masonic Street late on Saturday night, after the resident saw people on their CCTV.

The MultiSecur­ity response officer said the intruders, described as youngsters wearing red and orange shirts, were gone by the time he got there. He patrolled the area and found no trace of them.

In the early hours of Monday morning, an Atherstone resident pressed a panic signal when he spotted two intruders on the premises. The intruders fled.

MultiSecur­ity patrolled the area, but saw no one suspicious.
