Tree surgery, felling, trimming, removal all part of the service
If you are having a problem with overhanging branches or you require a tree to be felled, then you should call Meyer van Staden, the owner of The Arborist.

Van Staden has lived in places all over SA, having spent his formative years on a game farm in the Waterberg in Limpopo, and moving to Richards Bay and the Western Cape. He then went on to Pietermaritzburg until moving to the Eastern Cape where he has lived for the past seven years.
Van Staden and a friend established their own arborist company of tree surgeons called TFOSS in the Midlands area of KwaZulu-Natal. Van Staden said it was still operating, with his friend running the team.
As for experience and training, Van Staden said “besides the six years of experience cutting a few hundred trees, some of which are bigger than you will find around here, I also qualified as an IRATA Level-1 Rope Access Technician in 2012. I've always loved rock climbing, and I can stay calm while working at heights. I studied horticulture, so I understand and care about trees and the environment.”
Van Staden has been working seasonally in Zambia as a back-up driver for a German photographic safari company for the last two years, as well as doing some tree surgeon work in Lusaka. He said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic he had decided to begin operations in the Ndlambe area.
He offers specialised service to safely remove hazardous, very tall and hard-to-get-to trees and branches.
“I also do topping, shaping and general trimming of trees. All of these services include removal,” he explained.
“I remove dangerous trees and branches by dismantling them piece by piece. I work as a solid, trustworthy two-man team. All work at height is done by me alone.”
Van Staden wants to reach the general public, businesses and garden services that require additional help with trees.
