Running the race from birth to death

- INSPIRATIONALrobbed Pastor Theo Snyman

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1).

Life’s race begins at birth and ends at death. We are all in it together, but we all have our own individual race to run.

To a large degree our circumstances determines the hill we have to climb, but it is our attitude in life that makes the difference.

The beginning of the Christian race also requires a birth according to the words of the Lord Jesus in John 3:3.

It says, “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” The natural life we live is not sufficient, there must be a spiritual rebirth.

All roads may lead to Rome, but not to heaven.

The Lord Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13, 14).

The beginning is of absolute importance for, if incorrect, it may cause disqualification at the end.

It is imperative to remain faithful to the end though, for those who endure to the end will be saved and will receive a crown that will last forever.

Due to the Covid-19 regulations, the road has become long and lonely for many.

Social distancing has

us of the fellowship we took so for granted. Let us not give up praying for each other and let us encourage one another by all means possible.

No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.
