The Lower Albany Historical Society (LAHS), establishe­d in 1958, aims to promote the history of the Eastern Cape, especially of Lower Albany. Every year the society, based in Port Alfred, organises ten meetings and outings on the third Thursday of every month (February to November) and publishes the sought-after Toposcope Journal.
