New online shopping app launched

Port Alfred branch opts for tailored approach

-

The Port Alfred Pick n Pay hosted an evening with local business and stakeholders at the Royal Port Alfred Golf Club, on Tuesday September 5, where owners MJ and Lucinda van Jaarsveld launched the ShopnBag online shopping service.

MJ thanked all those in attendance.

“We moved here three years ago and have an incredible team at Pick n Pay Port Alfred,” he said.

“We are service and community driven, it is what makes us tick, but without the community we would have no business.”

While other Pick n Pay stores might make use of the ASAP app, the Port Alfred team decided to take a more tailored approach.

“We have customers with specific needs and we wanted more local agility, so we looked at the various applications available out there and decided on ShopnBag.

There are more than 5,000 products available through the app, which will grow through our strong development team,” MJ said.

The app will cater to the market and allows the local Pick n Pay to offer their own promotions and marketing.

When using the app, your first order is free and thereafter the charge is only R30 per delivery within Port Alfred, but you are also able to place your order for collection, at a time of your choosing free of charge.

The app is available on Android and iOS devices, simply scan the QR code on the advertisement or visit your play store/ app store and search ShopnBag for easy and convenient shopping from store to door.

Delivery is only available in the Port Alfred area, but the Port Alfred Pick n Pay owners hope to expand delivery at a later stage.
