Right tyres, right price

-

Tyremart’s national strategy is “the right tyres at the right price”.

In practical terms, that means instead of having limited brand choice, customers at its franchises have a huge range of choices.

“We’re not fully reliant on a single manufacturer,” owner Robert van der Merwe said. “And we’re continually checking on products and prices.

“We’re a multibranded tyre company with fully stocked warehouses across the country that allow us to offer our customers a full range of choices.”

Here’s a fun fact: If worrying about your vehicle is keeping you up at night, did you know that through Tyremart’s national website, you can get a quote on specific tyres at any time of night?

Tyremart Makhanda and its Port Alfred operation are a family-owned and run franchise that takes choice and service to their limits.

“Every driver is different,” Van der Merwe said. “And every condition underfoot is different.

“So we listen, and make the effort to understand what their lives involve: where they’re using their vehicle and how, and what their budget is.

“Trying to fit the cheapest product is a cancer in our industry. That’s not what we’re about. Our aim is to understand the conditions under which a customer is using their vehicle, and align the product with that, at the best possible price.

“We have popular tyre stock sizes on hand that we replenish daily from the Tyremart warehouse in East London. So no driver has to put up with anything that’s less than ideal for their needs,” Van der Merwe said.

Available through the Port Alfred and Makhanda outlets are tyres for: Passenger vehicles Ultra-light trucks (ULTs)

Sport utility vehicles (SUVs) 4x4s

Trucks

Agri-vehicles (tractors, TLBs). “On each of those, we have an offering of good, better, best,” Van der Merwe said.

Tyremart is an SA-driven franchise, Van der Merwe said.

“We support local tyre manufacturers as much as we can: after all, that’s what keep our country’s economy going.”
