Talk of the Town

The greatest gift of all

- — This week’s editorial was written by Anneli Hanstein

“Money is not the only commodity that is fun to give. We can give time, we can give our expertise, we can give our love, or simply give a smile.

“What does that cost? The point is, none of us can ever run out of something worthwhile to give. —

Steve Goodier

As the Santa Senior Shoebox Project draws to a close for 2023, we would like to give thanks and some feedback on what was achieved this year.

Our partners this year were Edge Financial Group, Multi Security, PARRA, Port Alfred Pick n Pay, Rosehill Superspar and Sunshine Coast SuperSpar.

Thank you very much to all of you for collecting and donating to this worthy cause.

Without the help of our community this project would not have been able to be successful.

Even in the difficult financial times we all find ourselves in, our community has opened their hearts and donated items which will make many senior citizens’ hearts happy in the Ndlambe area.

So many individuals, businesses, NGOs and churches have delivered items for the boxes.

We have packed and delivered the boxes and can only say what a humbling experience it is to see the joy and appreciation these boxes were received with.

Thank you Ndlambe, once again you have shown that our community cares about each other.

“Generosity is not giving me that which I need more than you do, but it is giving me that which you need more than I do. ”— Khalil Gibran
