Round Table Alex Kenton 210: A year in review – achievements and transitions
This year has been a year of significant achievements and important moments at Round Table 210 under the leadership of chairperson Thomas Sutherland and vice chairperson Chris Ovens.
A key accomplishment was the Middle Beach Wall repair project. This project showcased effective collaboration, involving the Kenton-on-Sea Ratepayers Association, the Rotary Club of Kenton-on-Sea, and Ndlambe Municipality.
Together, we restored a vital community landmark and raised more than R250,000.
This effort demonstrates what can be achieved through joint community efforts.
This year also brought sadness with the passing of FD
Theron, a valued former member and father of our longstanding member Guillym Theron.
His death reminds us of life’s fragility and the value of time spent with significant people in our lives.
Looking ahead to next year, we welcome a new leadership team. Starting on January 11, Jacques van Wyk will become chairperson, with Joshua Burger vice chairperson.
Their leadership, combined with our goal to strengthen ties with the Kenton community, both in business and socially, promises another year of valuable contributions and stronger community connections.
We also acknowledge Alan
Malan as he transitions to an exmember role after dedicating more than 20 years to the Association of Round Tables.
He completes his term as an Honorary Member on January 11.
Reflecting on the past year, we recognise our growth through successes, challenges, and the loss of a respected community member.
These experiences reinforce our commitment to positive community impact.
Our focus for the coming year is to deepen connections within our community, enhancing our efforts and relationships. We also appreciate the continuous support of our members and the community.
