The top four places went to two sides from Kowie BC and two from Albany BC, with neither of the Port Alfred teams able to feature in the intense heat that followed light drizzle earlier.

At the start, three games of 18 ends were to be played but with time running out after the first game, it was announced that the next two games be reduced to 15 ends.

Coming up this Thursday is the first leg of the Timm and Moore Shield to be played at Kowie.

This coming weekend will see the staging of the Eastern Province

Fours and attending will be this club’s runners-up of the Eastern Areas fours, namely Hein and Jaco van Rensburg, Theo Pretorius and Stuart McDougall. Give it horns.

Lastly, the club says goodbye to Peet van Rooyen and his wife Susan, who will be spending time in the Cape. Travel safely you two.

Then, Trevor Frost is travelling to Cape Town to sort out a heart concern. Our thoughts are with you and Jenny.
