Calico has a no-homework policy, allowing families to spend quality time together.
We can accomplish this by extending our day to 4pm. Less but longer periods per day allow our pupils to master one topic before moving on to the next. This approach promotes deeper understanding and retention of the material, leading to more successful learning outcomes in the long run.
Additionally, it encourages more focused and meaningful class discussions and activities.
Our pupils develop a passion for life sciences, physical sciences, marine sciences, geography, religious studies, and mathematics. We aim to cultivate curious and engaged pupils prepared for success in a rapidly changing world.
Our cobalt blue, teal, white, and grey uniforms represent the colours of the ocean and sky. The comfortable design and colour scheme promote unity, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among our pupils.

The elephant in our logo represents a herd’s matriarch, the cornerstone of the family who ensures each member’s wellbeing. The elephant symbolises strength, wisdom, and unity within the herd, and the importance of family and community. She imparts knowledge, gives love, and leads. Calico Academy’s educators teach, love, and lead pupils fearlessly, ensuring they receive guidance and encouragement to succeed.
