Bentley sells for over R2m

SERIOUS BUYERS: SCRAMBLE FOR OWNERSHIP RIGHTS

‘Bidding quickly resumed, though, and the car was finally knocked down at R2 040 000, excluding VAT, to applause.’

Park Village Auctions (PVA) was recently instructed by a leading financial institution to auction a “magnificent” Bentley Continental GT.

That’s the news from PVA’s Johan Vorster, who was involved with the auction of the car on August 17 at PVA’s Martindale premises.

The immaculate red 2013 Bentley had just 23 937km on the clock. It features a beautiful dark leather interior and all the impressive features that come standard with cars of this nature.

“As per usual, Clive Lazarus kicked off the auction at 10.30am. There was a big crowd in attendance which continued to swell as the auction of the Bentley approached,” Vorster says.

“When the Bentley came up, there was a distinct uptick in activity and everyone focused their attention on it. It quickly became clear that the Bentley was what everyone had been waiting for. Once bidding started, the atmosphere was electric.

“As bidding reached R2 million, there was a short lull as everyone in the room digested what was happening. Bidding quickly resumed though, and the car was finally knocked down at R2 040 000, excluding VAT to applause.

“It was an incredible result for an incredible car. Suffice to say, such auctions speak volumes of PVA’s abilities to auction cars across the spectrum and service a wide variety of buyers.”

PVA hosts car auctions from its premises around the country. To find out where and when the next auction will take place, go to www.parkvillageauctions.co.za.
