Miheso case for Fifa

-

FIFProAfrica have joined hands with Safpu as they seek justice for former Golden Arrows player Clifton Miheso who was allegedly forced at gunpoint to sign a contract termination. The unions revealed they would take Miheso’s matter to world football governing body Fifa to ensure justice is done on the matter. A source at Safpu said they were not happy with the PSL’s inactivity on the matter since they reported it. “They feel the PSL is dragging their feet on the matter and they are now looking at other avenues. The player’s rights and his life were threatened and justice must prevail,” said the source. FIFProAfrica have, meanwhile, started a social media campaign titled #JusticeForMiheso where they have called for an end to player intimidation and late salary payments among other things. Baxter’s advice for Farmer

SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter has revealed what he told Denwin Farmer (above) in the dressing-room. Farmer has been a prominent figure in the defence this season. “I want people to look at you and say he is an old head on young shoulders. What that should mean is that you play with authority,” said Baxter. The former Bafana Bafana coach also told the 20-year-old to learn from the senior players’ experience. “I told him to sit next to Morgan Gould and I said to him, listen to the old man. But it is also true when Teboho Mokoena comes on and plays alongside Reneilwe Letsholonyane. For Tebza, Dean Furman and Yeye is a good school. It is important that your senior, experienced players show their attitude and know their roles.” Musona turned down QPR trial

Zimbabwean football agent Kenny Mapeza has revealed that fellow countryman Knowledge Musona (above) snubbed a move to English side Queens Park Rangers back in 2013 when he opted to instead return to Kaizer Chiefs on loan. Mapeza who a European-based agent, revealed that Musona was invited for a trial at Rangers, but the player himself was not comfortable with the assessment. “Knowledge is the one who said he wouldn’t come to England for trials when he wasn’t getting game time in Germany. That’s around the time he was loaned back to Chiefs,” Mapeza was quoted as saying by The Herald newspaper in Zimbabwe. Mapeza added that he is “heartbroken” to see average players plying their trade abroad while the likes of Khama Billiat are still based in Africa.

Confederation of African Football president Issa Hayatou (above), along with the rest of the Caf executive committee, are expected to arrive tomorrow and will attend Saturday’s Caf African Super Cup clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and DR Congo’s TP Mazembe. The South African Football Association have requested that the game, meanwhile, be moved from the Lucas Moripe Stadium to Loftus Versfeld, because they do not feel the former has the necessary facilities for a game of this magnitude. South Africa will also host the Fifa International Executive Summit from February 21 to 23, which will include delegates from across Europe, like German Football Federation president Reinhard Grindel.
