Racial insults are uncalled for

-

South Africa is a free country where people of all races and different genders are equal under the laws of the country.

It is disappointing to see and hear of people still fighting and hurling insults using racial and gender lines. Such things are uncalled for.

We have recently seen the video footage that went viral from a Spur restaurant in Johannesburg.

The whole thing is said to have started with kids. Kids are kids. Sometimes they get naughty when they play. Parents need to always check on them.

Wanting to check why your kid has been made to cry, should not be a problem if the approach is non-violent. We are both parents, it can also happen to you.

It is unfortunate that every little misunderstanding is classified under “racial attack”. People use colour and gender as the scapegoat. We must remember that our rights come with some responsibility. We still need to respect each other.

As parents, the black woman and the white man could have handled the situation differently.

The altercation showed we still need an education. We need to accept and embrace each other.

I mean, the woman went on to cause a scene by shouting out so loud and saying same racial things that she hated from the same white man.

Did the two think about their kids? The kids will grow up with hatred after seeing what they saw. Shane, Matibidi
