Wayfoong Vinnie looks hard to beat in Ewo at Happy Valley

– It looks pretty hard to oppose likely short-priced favourite Wayfoong Vinnie in The Ewo Challenge Trophy at Happy Valley today.

The progressive John Sizetrained

Hong Kong

sprinter is bidding to land his third win this season.

A son of Elusive City, he was an impressive winner two weeks ago over the minimum trip at Happy Valley where he showed a blistering turn of foot from almost last on the turn to swamp his rivals and win by a neck.

This time he carries 1.5kg more, but if anything, has struck an inferior field .

With an abundance of early pressure in the race, he might get the event run to suit.

Joao Moreira has been booked and this looks another good ride for the “Magic Man”.

A realistic danger is Ace King, who has been holding form well.

Admittedly his Sha Tin record seems superior at this stage but his second to Brave Watchman reads well and if he can bring that sort of form to Happy Valley, then Ace King should figure in the finish.

The draw has been kind to Call Me Awesome, who was particularly good in defeat behind Right Call 10 days ago.

The fact he is returning to the track relatively quickly is a positive and if he can get a soft run on the back of the leaders, could add good value in exotic bets.
