Mamelodi Sundowns are plagued by injuries going into their Absa Premiership game against Bloemfontein Celtic tomorrow evening at Loftus Versfeld.

The defending champions are coming off the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of fellow title hopefuls Kaizer Chiefs. The loss left Downs seven points behind Bidvest Wits at the end of the weekend, even though they do have two games in hand on the Clever Boys.

“Khama Billiat is not match-fit, Wayne Arendse is out for eight weeks, we played on the artificial pitch (away to Kampala Capital City Authority in Uganda) and his legs got stuck, he tried to move but he tore his ligaments. Sibusiso Vilakazi is also out for eight weeks, but he is in his second week and he is doing very well,” said the Brazilians mentor.

Sundowns have relied on their games in hand, but those are slowly running out and they are not making up enough ground. Mosimane however, remains confident his side can win the remainder of their league games.

“We are struggling a little bit, we are not in a very good position, and I told the guys that it is a test of character, so we will see what happens. But at least we are progressing in the Nedbank Cup, and we are also progressing in the Caf Champions League,” Mosimane said.

“I think it will go to the wire and we will see how it goes. I don’t have a problem when the team play like that (like they did against Chiefs). We are Sundowns, we are going to have to come back and fight back and try and do what we can. We believe we can win all the games,” he added.
