Lorch back for Pirates

HOME: WINGER RETURNS FROM CHIPPA LOAN PERIOD

Sea Robbers out for revenge against Free State Stars.

After enjoying a terrific loan spell with Chippa United, Orlando Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch finds himself in a different phase where the Buccaneers are struggling, but he promised he would work hard to help the team get back to their best form.

Lorch was sent out on loan to the Chilli Boys last year and managed to help the Eastern Cape outfit finish the 2015/2016 season in the top eight for the first time in the club’s history, scoring a couple of goals and a registering a number of assists for Dan Malesela’s team.

“It has been tough for all us in the team, but we all have to put in extra effort to ensure we get back to the Pirates that everybody knows. We have to grind out results and we all want to start winning games so that we can build on our confidence and make our supporters happy again,” said the winger.

Before rejoining Pirates ahead of the second half of the current season, Lorch scored three goals for Chippa with the same number of assists to his name. He has since remained consistent with his performances and has managed to make a huge impact in the Bucs team particularly in the club’s most important fixture against Kaizer Chiefs where he was named the Man-of-theMatch, but the 23-year-old says he won’t be happy with his individual performance until the team start doing well.

“We are in a team together, so if the team is not doing well obviously I won’t be happy, I have to make a point that I will try and help the team win, then I will be happy with my performances.”

Lorch will be looking to help his team get a win against Free State Stars on Saturday when the teams meet in a Nedbank Cup tie at the James Motlatsi Stadium, a week after losing to the same Stars side in an Absa Premiership clash at the same venue.
