TOMORROW Wellington Hurricanes v Waratahs 9.35am

-

Even without the “Bus”, All Black wing Julian Savea who has been given a rest, the Hurricanes will have too much firepower. The Waratahs have suffered from poor starts to every single game.

Prediction: Hurricanes by more than 10Tokyo

SATURDAY Sunwolves v Bulls

7.15am One would like to believe this is surely the one game the Bulls should win, but they have to work on their poor second half efforts, the Sunwolves though also can’t boast much about their last 40 approaches. Prediction: Bulls by eight.

Dunedin Highlanders v Blues

9.35am Both are struggling to keep up with the standards their countrymen, the Crusaders, Hurricanes and Chiefs, have set, but it’s still bound to be a typical thrilling all-Kiwi contest.

Prediction: Highlanders by not more than seven.

Canberra Brumbies v Reds

11.45am The Brumbies are still the Aussie Conference leaders despite winning just two from five games with just 11 log points, a sign of how poor the Aussie conference is compared to the might of the Kiwis.

Prediction: Brumbies by nine.

Durban Sharks v Jaguares

3.05pm Lions coach Johan Ackermann last week tipped the Sharks as potential contenders this year, while the Jaguares have to prove they are just as competitive away from their Buenos Aires base. Prediction: Sharks by 10.

Cape Town Stormers v Chiefs

5.15pm It’s the Stormers’ first Kiwi opposition and will showcase how far they have come. However, their new-found exciting fast-tempo approach would count for little if they are – as expected – exposed in the contact areas. Prediction: Chiefs by eight. SUNDAY

Perth Force v Kings

8.05am Both teams post just five points from five matches with a single win each. This match should also prove why both are facing the cut from the Super Rugby make-over to be announced soon. Prediction: Force by 12-15. Byes: Lions, Crusaders, Cheetahs, Rebels.
