SA Bike Festival’s epic offer

LONG WAY UP ADVENTURE: TAKE YOUR WAG FROM CAPE TOWN TO KYALAMI

-

A deal has been struck with SAA to get you back home again afterwards.

If you enjoy riding the long way round, or the long way down, here’s something to tickle your two-wheel fancy. Join South Africa Bike Festival for an epic “long way up” adventure from Cape Town to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from Monday the 22nd to Saturday May 27.

For those in Cape Town willing and able to have a few days off work you can join our crew, the team from Look What You’re Missing TV and Continental Tyres, as they take you and a group of 20 plus adventure and cruiser bikers through the Karoo, up the N1 and beyond, filming the adventure all the way. Pillions and/or wags are welcome to join you on the back of your motorcycle or in a support vehicle. A deal has been struck with SAA to get you home as well as a deal through GS Africa for a one-way motorcycle rental if you don’t have your own or to freight your motorcycles from Johannesburg back to the Mother City.

This experience is open to 650cc and above motorbikes of any type as long as they are in roadworthy condition. The tour cost is R9 800 per rider and R8 500 per pillion/WAG and includes dinner, bed and breakfast. Qualified guides, a tour medic and support vehicle are all included.

The tour leaves from Cape Town on the morning of May 22 and arrives in time for the evening festivities on May 26 at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. Riders will then have the opportunity to enjoy all that the festival has to offer for the whole day on Saturday, May 27.

The cost of the tour includes South Africa Bike Festival standard tickets for May 26 where you can watch the Monster Energy Flight Night FMX Stunt Show with pyrotechnics, laser lights and stunts and jumps from the very best local Monster Energy Athletes, as well as international rider Jimmy Hill from the US.

On Saturday, tour participants will have the all-inclusive Sky Lounge tickets, which include five meal vouchers and complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks all day. This gives visitors a 180-degree view of the new circuit and festival grounds from the Kyalami Pit Roof, including VIP parking, helmet, jackets and glove storage.

Adventure Ride Outs will be available over the surrounding lands for those who prefer a hair-raising off-road and adventurous experience. Test ride the 2km course on adventure motorcycles from Honda, Suzuki, KTM, Yamaha, Polaris and Linhai and depending on stock levels, visitors can either test the Can-Am Traxter utility or Can-Am Maverick sport model by venturing out with a technical instructor from the team at ADA SA: Experiential Rider Development.

Circuit Test Rides are available at additional cost for each tour participant, but are highly recommended and offer a great opportunity to test ride new models on the all-new Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

The BMW Motorrad Off-road Skills Course will be in action all weekend and visitors can test the new models around a short course free of charge.

They can test ride the manoeuvering, handling and balance of the powerful and technologically advanced BMWs on a short course mapped out by the trained instructors from Country Trax who will be on hand to answer all your questions.

Costs for return flights and shipping of motorcycles back to Cape Town are available on request.

Fly yourself home. Freight your bike back.
