The Citizen (Gauteng)

It’s all just promises, promises with the ANC

-

The ANC’s new promise of radical economic transformation should worry you, writes Afrika Katze

They promised a better life for all and delivered by shutting down nursing and education colleges, industries and product control boards. They promised reconciliation and sustainable development and delivered poor quality RDP houses, one-car-at-a-time streets with massive pot-holes, no street lights, intermittent water supply and when it rains electricity disappears.

And yes, they brought us the arms deal and loadshedding!

They promised equal opportunities for all but delivered a well-structured system of jobs for pals and girlfriends, while unemployed graduates quickly transformed into criminals.

They did promise equal pay for equal work but when miners called them on this promise they were mowed down mercilessly.

They promised to open doors of learning to all but delivered a 30% pass mark, combined with a system of jobs-for-cash, resulting in the appointment of less qualified persons to positions of power within school management.

They delivered tollgates and demand that the already heavily taxed middle-class dig further in their pockets while they deliver without fail to bail out SAA.

They promised access to free quality health and social services and delivered by killing over a hundred mentally ill patients.

They promised clean, efficient, effective and transparent government and delivered Jacob Zuma and his entourage of marauding delinquents.

They promised BBBEE and PPP and delivered us the Gupta Dynasty.

Now that they are promising you radical economic transformation, be worried, very worried!
