Collectables for every taste
Don’t miss Dunnes’ Antiques and Collectables Auction this weekend.
Dunnes Africa Auctioneers is holding its Antiques & Collectables auction on Saturday, April 29 at 10am with viewing on Friday from 9 to 4pm and prior to the start of the auction. The auction will start as usual with jewellery followed by collectables, paintings and furniture. The venue for the auction will be 76 Maria Street, Fontainebleau, Randburg and the auction rooms are full of goods.
Jewellery includes a variety of vintage, 9ct and 18ct gold and silver rings, bracelets and necklaces plus a selection of watches and vintage jewellery.
Jewellery is followed by the collectables amongst which will be a wide variety of items including a selection of vintage goods, an antique Swiss cylinder rosewood music box (over 120 years old), a His Master Voice gramophone, a variety of Royal Doulton including a Loving Cup, Murano, pieces of Royal Albert and Lladro, several pieces of silver, plus a number of books on art and a couple of 1st edition books, as well as many more items of interest.
On the painting side there will be a number of pieces of art by various South African (Don Benzien, a number of pieces by Marie Strauss, Michael Albertyn, Louise Repsold, etc) and international artists in various mediums.
There is a large selection of antique, contemporary and retro furniture, including an early imbuia cabinet, mahogany display cabinet, stinkwood chairs, walnut tub chair, mahogany encased Murphy radiogram, Edwardian mahogany dining room suite and a grandfather clock.
