Zuma supporters barking up the wrong tree

Ordinary citizens of this country are not stupid, writes Oupa Mangena from Florida.

There’s a misconception by those implicated in the state of capture and the defenders of Jacob Zuma that those pushing for the president to step down do it because they are being influenced by third forces (foreign forces) aiming to topple the ruling party.

I read with amusement the presentation by CEO of Eskom Brian Molefe in the standing com- mittee meeting that there’s a misconception that he presided over contract negotiations of Tegeta.

He further stated that the companies that happen to have contracts with Eskom are “whiteowned” companies.

Everyone knows the Guptas told everyone captured or in support of the president how they should report to the media.

They blame white monopoly being central to the lack of transformation by these captured business and political figures. Well, they should know better! Ordinary citizens of this country are not stupid and easily influenced.

We have our own minds. We read media reports and apply our minds to draw conclusions.

If reports make sense, we then form public opinion about such issues which, in turn, we use to hold the government responsible.

Those captured by the Guptas thinking that we blacks are influenced by third forces (white monopoly) to call for the president to step down know they are insulting us.

We cannot allow corruption to reign in our country.
