Johannesburg’s priorities are wrong

-

Desperation by the DA to undo all the work of the previous ANC administration is going to cost Johannesburg residents dearly in a number of ways.

They are focusing on not-sobasic things just to stamp their authority in the city and are not focusing on the service delivery that the residents of the city so urgently want.

It is a fact that we are backward with the upgrading of infrastructure and servicing of existing systems.

Our focus as the city should be addressing the urgent needs of our residents and not to play politics while our infrastructure crumbles.

Most roads are not usable – potholes damage our cars daily – and we experience sewer blockages daily that affect our health.

How then do you prioritise the branding of the city (a world class African city) that costs billions of rands with no positive impact on the lives of the residents?

Billboards, all city cars, stationery, etc and all other branded assets of the city will now bear a new logo (Johannesburg works, South Africa works). Is this really a priority for the new city administrators? If so, how is it going to positively impact on our lives?

With the limited resources at our disposal we should be channelling them to better use and improve the lives of our residents.

Our priority should be improving the lives of the poorest of the poor by fast-tracking delivery service. Moses Zola Manake, Roodekrans
