Aldo’s Time To Think about more winners

The last time Aldo Domeyer missed a KZN Feature race meeting he stayed in Cape Town and won six of the 10 races carded.

History has a funny way of repeating itself so as Greyville hosts the Rising Sun Gold Challenge tomorrow it would be wise to follow Aldo, who looks set to win a couple of Kenilworth races.

His mounts in the first two races have produced glimpses of talent – Casual Diamond in the first, having run a close second last time and Public Prosecutor in the second race who finished fourth on debut and should improve further. Both could prove hard to peg back granted none of the newbies are special.

Aldo rides Cossack Guard in the third race; this horse has been rather costly to follow having finished second over his last five starts, could sixth time be lucky? He’s the best handicapped runner, shoulders 60kg and will jump from No 3 draw which should increase his chances. He also holds Harvey Spector on form having run ahead of him two runs back.

I make Time To Think in Race 4 the best bet on the card. She was bumped three times at the 200m mark last time out and has been heavily backed over her last three starts which could be a reflection of her true ability.

This Snaith-trained filly is yet to run out of the money over the course and I don’t see this changing anytime soon.

Race 8 will be the main event and although a number of runners could have a chance, it’s the combination of Candice Bass-Robinson and Aldo who could be the ones to back with Line Break. This gelding seems to have found his stride over his last four outings. A son of Dynasty, he drops in class a little and from a No 3 draw and a more suitable trip could earn career win number five. Aldo has a host of other races where he could win so don’t be surprise if wins another six on this card!
